Living Here In Allentown

Everyone is all a'buzz about the Muhlenberg publication "Living Here in Allentown: Beyond the Red Doors" and for good reasons! The only time I've ever seen a Muhlenberg student off campus was when they came back to Parkland to visit teachers* and the fact that this "Muhlenberg Bubble" has burst is good news.** College students provide a lot of valuable traffic to a city. Many don't have cars or don't have a lot of money, so the areas in which they can spend what cash they've got is restricted. And now that they've got that handy book, their money may not get directly funneled to T.G.I.F. but into the urban areas a little closer to home.

Well, college.

Yet, I cannot seem to find it on sale anywhere. I've heard it's available on amazon, and I've heard it's five bucks (or ten, or eight, or something) but I haven't been able to find it! I swear, I'm good for the money.

Honestly.

*actually, I've seen at least one (and known that she was a Muhlenberg student) at Hava Java, so there are a few that escape the net.
**probably the reason it's on AllentownGoodNews blog...

An in-depth article about the book and publication, but no directions on where to get one if you're not a student.

Katie--

I've been absent from the blogosphere with a new child, so sorry for the long absence of a reply.

The book is available in local Borders and on Amazon.

Amazon link: www.amazon.com/Living-Here-Allentown-Beyond-Doors/dp/0979626803/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1216050585&sr=8-1

I'd be happy to send along a free copy. I'd be curious what you think. The webpage will get much better soon.

Great blog--keep it up. My email is pooley@muhlenberg.edu and my webpage is www.muhlenberg.edu/communication/pooley

Thanks, Jeff
