Awright, So I'm Back

Every time I do something, I realize I'm not in Europe anymore. I look at signs and realize they're not in Italian, I pay for my lunch and it's not in Euros, I buy gelato and it ISN'T THE SAME DELICIOUS FROZEN ICE CREAM-LIKE TREAT THAT IT WAS IN EUROPE and also I drive a car.

It is refreshing to be back home! I was so exhausted from the traveling and dealing with the time difference (again) that I went to bed at 9 PM.* Of course, what I forgot is that when I go to sleep at 9 I wake up in time for school. High School. Six AM. I haven't woken up at 6 AM SINCE high school. I had NO IDEA what to do with myself so I did laundry. It was totally weird.

*Nine PM is a normal time, you say? What is this nonsense! I am a college student! It is, like, illegal to go to bed before midnight! THERE ARE SO MANY THINGS TO DO AND NIGHT TIME IS SO AWESOME, HOW CAN YOU SLEEP?!? Oh, you work ...

Good news! The sunflower field is all a'bloom! It is between Haasadahl road and Kernsville Road. So just go up 309 north until you past Orefield Middle School (Parkland) and make a left at the traffic light and look left once you pass Kernsville Elementary School and there it is! It is totally yellow.*

*SIGH, it reminds me of the acres and acres and acres of sunflower fields in Italy.

A friend painted my face last night with all these awesome swirls and such and the internet and my laptop are NOT GETTING ALONG right now so you have to wait for any kind of picture nonsense to happen. It is, like, the opposite of awesome.

OH! The CHARGE meeting tonight! I do not have directions! I don't even have a vague idea of where it is! I mean, I am figuring it is in Allentown, but really! I need them! I will dig some up.

The nice guys at the apple store are going to fix my computer tomorrow. You would think that I am a teenager and automatically know how to do these things but the truth is that I am total crap when it comes to technology. Well, I am better than my grandparents, but my brother is the one who seems to have all this technological know-how flowing through his veins. I am all, "let's read the directions!" and he is all, "yeah, but I already figured it out." and then I am all, "humph!" and fall into the slippery slope of teenage gloom.

Katie Bee,

Thanks for reading your wonderful poem at the Chen-Arts party last night. You are a talented writer.
It was great to see you there.

Katie Bee,

I know what you mean about coming home from a long, fulfilling trip like that. Aside from the culture shock, it can be depressing to return to the ho-hum details of everyday life. I really enjoyed reading your journal - without apostrophes and everything.
