New Gallery Space!

Greg Weaver's cows. My apologies to the poor image quality, I took a picture of a flyer that was handed to me.

Nineteenth Street's own Hava Java will put its blank walls to use by hosting an exhibition of local art legend Greg Weaver starting on June 12th.

Greg Weaver, known for his painting Herd of Cows, died on November 14th, 1994. This exhibition is a tribute to his life's work. There will be t-shirts for sale and a silent auction for an original painting.

According to Jeremy, the owner of the Hava Java, this is just the start. The Hava Java will exhibit work by local and student artists, switching off every month and a half. He's got quite a list of people already!

The very same night (June 12) just two doors down at Boutique To Go there will be a premier showing of original designs by Ilene Wood from 6 to 9 p.m. The exhibit is called "Pearls" and the designer herself will be there from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. the next day.

Lots of things going on down on 19th street!! I'm excited.

Elsewhere in Allentown ... on June 14th there will be a community street fair on 11th street between Chew and Turner from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Other than a variety of food vendors there will be raffles, rummage sales, the hula girls from Mayfair, a DJ, and a drum circle!

I will be volunteering at the table fundraising for new playground equipment at Mckinley Elementary, I hope to see you there!
