SNOW

SNOW! THERE IS SNOW OUTSIDE. DID YOU SEE THE SNOW? THERE IS SNOW. THERE IS A LOT OF SNOW.

OMG OMG, SNOW!

I love snow. I've skied since I was three, and I've been getting into nasty snowball brawls since I was five, and I've been hatching nefarious snowfort plans since I was seven. There are only two artists that have properly encapsulated my winters: Andrew Wyeth and Bill Watterson. Watterson wrote/drew Calvin and Hobbes and their winter adventures were something I always aspired to, yet fell short of (no kidding, I wasn't an animated tiger...).

I love winter, I actually get outside more in the wintertime than in the summertime because I am a ski instructor! I teach kids ages 3-10. Lessons range from "how to properly fall" to "let's make our skis into french fries! OH NO DON'T GO DOWN THE BIG SLOPE OH GOD OH GOD MAKE YOUR SKIS INTO A PIZZA! NOW!!!" But I am actually a pretty good instructor, especially if the kids have half a good attitude. Aaaand if they speak english or spanish. I had to teach korean and russian kids before. That was very difficult.

I'm off to play in the snow!

EDIT: Eeeew, this is melty snow...

I love that you were able to lump Andrew Wyeth and Bill Watterson into one category together...I knew there was a way!

By the way, the Chen Arts show is still going on. Thurs and Fri from 11-2 with the closing party Sat. from 5-9. Sorry to throw in the promotion, but I know you are a supporter of the group and might like to see the show. Glad to hear you're enjoying your trip home!

I'm really gunning for the closing party, the weather is not so good out today. I'm excited to see it!

Nice post.

I don't enjoy the snow anymore. I'll be driving in it all week.
